Local directions to North Hooe

Whether coming from Exeter or Plymouth it's advisable to make for Tavistock and proceed from there. Take A390 out of Tavistock then the B3257.

At the approach to Bere Alston take the middle road of the confluence of three which sets the village sign of Bere Alston on your left.  Continue and take the first left turn "The Down"; following the road round to the next crossroads (effectively bypassing the centre of the village).

Cross over the crossroads and exit the village down a small lane in a westerly direction (taking care NOT to follow the road into small housing estate). Keep straight with road joining from the right and after a few hundred yards you will pass over a railway bridge.

Continue straight for several hundred yards then follow the road round a ninety degree turn. Continue for about half a mile until you spy a tiny sign on the right to Hooe.

Turn right here and keep straight on for about one mile until you get to a fork in the road.

Take right fork downhill to North Hooe and Rivers Reach.
